“Basilico – L’infinito è là in fondo” traces the main stages of Gabriele Basilico’s journey as a photographer from the first photos, taken in his youth, to his last works in the 2000s. Among the many featured reporters, we follow Giovanna Calvenzi, Gabriele’s wife and photography historian who is now in charge of his archive.

The film questions the topic of the city, architecture and its contemplation. What makes Basilico’s gaze so metaphysical and objective at the same time? What does his work tell the new generations? What is the future of architectural photography? The film will answer these questions with the help of a group of young photography students grappling with an exercise: looking through the eyes of Gabriele Basilico.

How can we adopt novel perspectives of urban spaces and design to explore new possibilities?
