About the productions
Tamás B. Farkas Tamás (1937, Baja) is a Hungarian director. He studied directing at the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest. He was assistant, director, then chief director of Hungarian Television.
The ÉTK Filmstúdió was established as an independent branch of the Documentation Office of Construction in 1962. The films belonging to the Lechner Knowledge Centre pose a priceless historical collection of building and management technologies. The majority of these films were made between 1952 and 1992.
The studio’s other film in a previous festival edition is The New Óbuda.

SELECTION OF SHORTS FROM THE ARCHIVES OF LECHNER LAJOS KNOWLEDGE CENTRE

The short films from the Archives of Lechner Knowledge Centre portray the Hungarian architecture scene of the 60s and 70s. The films unfold the post-war architecture and present the social and economic background in which these plans were designed. Furthermore, we get an inside view of manufacturing the building materials and discover the organisation of work as well as the social hierarchy – with this knowledge, we can understand better this era of Hungarian history.
