One of the challenges of contemporary architecture is to communicate its vision and values to a larger audience. Colorful audiovisual materials and engaging narratives can help make buildings understandable and exciting for non-experts. That’s the idea behind Spaces Written by Light, which is part of a planned series that aims to present some of the most remarkable Hungarian contemporary buildings in an unconventional way. Instead of usual documentary film clichés and lengthy interviews, we witness the building’s typical day from its own point of view. As the sun rises, the rock-solid, sculptural concert centre begins transformation and gradually fills with people. Who are the people who take care of the building? Who are its regular visitors, who bring music and life to it?
How can contemporary architecture be explained innovatively and meaningfully for non-experts?
